Welcome to the self-guided Colorado Mountain College Leadville tour! This page contains a detailed look at many of the campus buildings and spaces.

STOP #1 - New Discovery Academic Center

New Discovery is where you will take the majority of your classes.

It is also the one stop shop for everything from registering for classes, paying your bill, meeting with faculty during their office hours or hanging out in the Student Government Association office.

STOP #2 - Pinnacle Resource Center

The Pinnacle Resource Center is home to the Learning Commons.

It includes the library, tutoring center, GIS computer lab, Colorado Avalanche Information Center, and the Academic Affairs offices.

Find a study spot, use a computer, or find your next great read in the library.

Sometimes it's better to head outside to the forest on campus for class.

STOP #3 - Rattling Jack (Welding Building)

You will find the faculty and students in our welding classes rattling around in this building.

We teach everything from basic welding to tig and mig, design and fabrication and the occasional art class.

STOP #4 - Climax Molybdenum Leadership Center

The Climax building is the primary building for the outdoor studies programs and it is where you will find the outdoor studies and avalanche science faculty offices.

This building also houses the workout rooms, climbing wall and the gymnasium.

If getting outside is what you want to do, you can check out gear such as mountain or fat bikes and snowshoes from the gear room.

STOP #5 - Get Outdoors Leadville (GOL) Gear Library

GOL is a community-based organization dedicated to connecting youth and families to the outdoors.

STOP #6 - Trails on campus

As part of the 300 acres that make up our beautiful campus, we have over 6.5 miles of single track trails for everyone to enjoy.

You can run, bike or take a nice walk in the woods. Just be aware you may “run” into our cross-country running team training all year round.

In the winter, some of the trails are groomed for fat bikes and others for cross-country skiing.

When you need a break for your studies, frisbee/disc golf is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy some exercise. We have a full 18 hole course, but be prepared to do a little hiking between the holes.

STOP #7 - Mountain View Residence Hall

Mountain View is the residence hall for on campus students.

Each room has all the basic necessities, bed, desk, chair, closet, drawers and each room has its own full bath with toilet, sink and shower.

The hall also has laundry facilities, study rooms and a multi-purpose room with kitchen.

As part of the Ski Area Operations program, students have the opportunity to take a class on designing and building a terrain park.

The backyard park is behind the residence hall and is available for students to use at their own risk, unless, of course, students are working on it or it is posted as closed.

STOP #8 - Coronado Café (Dining Hall)

The Coronado Café is not just for the residential students but off campus students, staff, faculty and community members also enjoy meals here, too.

STOP #9 - Crown Point

Crown Point houses the Ski Area Operations program and the snow cat shop. It's also home to the campus maintenance facilities.

There is one classroom on the second floor and the main shop on the first floor houses the 3 snowcats and the snowmaking equipment.
